We saw on the news this morning that the Dakota's have been having a lot of snow. That's where we would have been now if we'd gone south first. God always blesses our trips in so many ways. We'll never know all the ways.
The road leaving Cortez to Monument Valley is so rough. When I leaned my head back, the bumps just tossed it around. I couldn't read my book for awhile.
I love coming to Monument Valley. It's the only time I get to see my cousin, Joyce. I never even knew her before we started coming here. I may have met her twice before that.
One of the customers told a couple others that if they wanted to know about any of the books we carry, just ask me since I've read most of them and know all about them. That seems like a good kind of reputation to have. I don't know all of them, but I do quite a few. I love to read.
We had to drive back into Arizona to get a motel. It was about 25 miles, verses 75 or so to the next town big enough to have a motel in Utah. We don't like to do too much night driving especially around here, as there is so much open range. You never know what animals will be on the road.

October 26 Cortez, CO
It's only about an hour from Durango to Cortez, so it was another easy day. We had a good sale tonight. The people are so nice.

October 25 Durango, CO
It's getting cold. Tonight it was 34 degrees at 8:00. There's lots of new snow in the mountains.
Today was just the opposite of most of the other days we have. We got here around 12:30. The motel upgraded us to a suite. Next door is a restaurant. We've eaten there before, good food. So after lunch we went back to our room, with nothing to do. I read and Jim paid our bills on the computer. Felt funny not working.
We thought we would get to the Church early for our 6:00 sale. They have road construction, same as 6 months ago. The GPS took us a long, wrong way to the Church. A 5 - 10 minute drive took about 25 minutes. We did get there and we had a nice sale, our best here yet.
Mrs. Schultz is always our first customer. She just had her 90th birthday less than a month ago. She's looking good, gets around great and was upset because she couldn't remember our names. But she did know who we are. I've known her since I was 13.

October 24 Farmington, NM
I think this is the first Sunday this trip that we only had one sale. But we were still busy all day. It's 8:00 PM now, I just finished my work. Jim still has to scan the daily cash-ups for this week and send it to the Press.
Last night I sent out 15 emails to classes of alumni. This morning all of them came back. The computer locked up last night and had other problems. I feel like I wasted my time last night.

Aztec Ruins National Monument
After Church we went over to the Aztec Ruins. We went a couple years ago, but decided that it was worth another trip. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

October 22 Farmington, NM
Seems like a busy day doing nothing. We did stop at the bank before we left Santa Fe. Then we had to go back through Albuquerque to pick up a package that didn't get there the first time we went through. After that we drove to Farmington. It really is a pretty drive up here, lots of rock formations, cool looking mountains and even more rain and sleet. We were at 7000' elevation several times.
We found our motel, I got some laundry done before sundown and now the day is over. Wow, what a life!

October 21 Sante Fe, NM
Jim spent the day putting food away in the trailer and truck. Any more food and we would have had to leave it in the aisle. That's not really an option.
I worked with him several hours, but I also spent several more hours working on alumni stuff. I now have more than 500 email addresses entered in my contacts for alumni.
Another storm went through today. More rain, hail and sleet. Luckily it's not cold enough for anything to last. Eastern New Mexico even had a couple tornadoes.
The author of one of our books came in the store tonight. I didn't know it until after he left. Jim talked to him.
