The most exciting thing we did today was to see the Corn Palace in Mitchell. It's the only one in the world like it.
The outside of the building and several walls inside are murals made out of corn. One of the pictures show how they make a template of a picture, then they take corn on the cob, cut it in half and nail it. By using different colors of corn, they make pictures. All these pictures are on the outside walls of the corn palace. They change the pictures every year, using around 30,000 bushel of corn and costing around $130,000.
This really was interesting to see if you're in the area, but I'd never make it my destination for a trip.
